Two players per team, nine holes each week. All six qualifying scores—three from each partner—count toward your division.
Gold, Silver and Bronze are split approximately into thirds. Teams tied at a cutoff stay together in the higher division. Placement is provisional until staff locks divisions after Week 3.
Weeks 4–10 · Team net
Your two weekly net results are added together. Compete against teams in your locked division; later rounds and makeups do not move an already placed team.
Individual gross runs all 10 weeks. Every actual round counts. Equal totals share rank; incomplete results remain pending.
Your handicap, step by step
Gross is what you shoot. Net is your score after your handicap and the scoring limits below.
− handicap Takes strokes off your score.
+ handicap Adds strokes to your score.
Start with your best two qualifying rounds
After all three rounds are played, compare each with that week’s par. Drop the worst result, average the best two, and reverse the sign. That is your starting handicap for Week 4.
Example · Par 36 each week
Shoot 50, 46 and 42. Those are +14, +10 and +6. Drop +14 for handicap only. Average +10 and +6 to get +8: your starting handicap is −8.
All 138 gross strokes still count in gross standings and division placement.
Update it 50/50 after each round
In Weeks 4–10, average your entering handicap with par minus your new gross score. Apply the handicap limits below.
Use the updated handicap for that same round
Round the updated handicap to a whole stroke, add it to your gross score, then apply the net limit. Carry the updated handicap into your next round.
Example · An improving round
Enter at −8 and shoot 40 on par 36. The new round contributes −4. Average −8 and −4 to get −6. Your net is 40 − 6 = 34, or 2 under par.
Reports show whole-stroke handicaps. The calculation keeps one decimal behind the scenes; halves round away from zero for scoring (−3.5 becomes −4; +1.5 becomes +2). This is a custom Stix handicap based on par, not an official USGA Handicap Index.
Three scoring limits
+2
Maximum shots added
Your handicap can add at most two strokes. A +2 handicap turns 33 gross into 35 net.
3 strokes
Maximum extra help per update
A bad round can make your handicap more negative by at most three strokes: −6 can become −9, but not −10. A good round can reduce your help without this limit.
−4 to +4
Weekly net range per player
Your recorded net stays between four under and four over par. On par 36, that is 32–40. The team range is −8 to +8. This limit does not change the handicap carried forward.
Example · A rough round
Enter at −6 and shoot 50 on par 36. The 50/50 average would be −10, but the extra-help limit makes it −9. That gives 41 net; the net limit records 40 (+4). Your next-round handicap remains −9.
Playing & makeups
Your weekly round
One hour per team; two teams may play together in a two-hour slot. Check the course schedule and confirm your assigned tees with staff.
Tees
Women and juniors under 14: green. Men over 65: red. Standard men’s tees: white or blue, depending on course length.
At a team season gross total of 20 under par, move back one tee box. At 30 under, move back two boxes total from your starting tees. Staff will confirm the change.
Missed rounds
Arrange makeups with staff during the 10-week season and give your team name at check-in. Allow 30 minutes for one player or one hour for your team.
Makeups count in their original week. Earlier scores or corrections can change later handicaps and net totals. Missing rounds are never entered as zero.
At the division lock, missing qualifying rounds may be estimated for placement only, using your completed rounds or your partner’s if you have none. These estimates never count as played scores, gross totals or handicaps. You still need all three actual qualifying rounds.
Substitutes
Arrange substitutes with staff. In Weeks 4–10, their gross must beat the absent player’s established scoring baseline to count. Staff applies the substitute’s approved handicap; the absent player’s handicap and individual gross stay unchanged.
